How can I get faster broadband with G.Network?
When you join G.Network, you’ll be able to get internet speeds 13x faster than the London average. That means no more dropouts or interrupted streaming. Sounds good, right?
If your postcode is already live on our network, you can go right ahead and order from us. Simply pick up the phone or go through a few simple steps on our website.
What happens if you are not available in my area?
We’re working hard to roll out our full fibre network across London, so hopefully we’ll be in your area soon. If we’re not in your area right now, please register your interest with us and we’ll get in touch with you as soon as we have an estimated date.
We’re building a brand-new, full fibre network for London, so it’s worth the wait.
I want broadband and I’m in London, how do I switch?
Well, that’s great news! All the information you need about the switching process is here.
If you’d like to get the ball rolling with us, we’d love to hear from you!
Does your wifi cover my whole house/premises?
Speeds will drop the further away you get from the router. That’s why we recommend that you position your router in the room where you use the internet the most – this is usually the living room. Depending on your property, you might want to think about using signal boosters, to get the most out of your broadband.
Frequently asked questions.
How can I find out the broadband speed in my area?
If you’re with G.Network, your broadband speed will depend on which tariff you’re on. We want to give our customers the option to choose what’s right for them, which is why we offer speeds from 150mbps to 900Mbps. Bearing in mind London’s average speed is 77mbps, that’s how much faster full fibre broadband can be.
If you’re not on our network, you can find out your current speed by running a speed test on your mobile or laptop.
Why have I been told G.Network is available in my area, but I’m unable to purchase online?
Firstly, thanks for your interest in G.Network. There are a couple of reasons why you might not be able to purchase online. It might be that we’re waiting for a Wayleave in your building (that’s the legal agreement we need to install fibre) or if you’re purchasing our Essential Fibre tariff.
If you give our team a call, they’ll be happy to help you.
What is the difference between upload and download?
Aha, the magic question. Put simply, download is receiving information and upload is giving out information. For example, download is what you use when streaming a movie or listening to other people on a Zoom call. Whereas upload is what you use to send an email or allow others to hear you on a Zoom call. Makes sense?
Upload and download speeds can be different, but that’s nothing to worry about, especially if you’re looking for residential broadband. You’ll expect upload speeds to be slower because, in general, download speeds are more important. That’s not always the case for businesses, which is why we offer symmetrical upload and download speeds.
