Building back London's businesses.

How the expansion of our full fibre network is boosting the London economy and enabling London businesses to unlock their full potential.

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the UK economy dramatically. GDP declined by 9.8% in 2020, the biggest drop since consistent records began in 1948 (Source: UK Parliament ‘Coronavirus: Economic impact’ briefing). For central London, the economic downturn has been significant. The sudden reduction in footfall driven by home-working and unprecedented restrictions on travel, retail, hospitality and tourism has devastated the capital’s economy and most businesses have suffered.  As government restrictions ease, we understand how crucial it is for businesses to have the right support in place and the foundation to succeed when they return to the city.

G.Network’s mission is to rebuild London’s broadband from the fibre up. We want to bring faster, more reliable and more affordable connectivity to Londoners. The current congested copper wire network is no longer fit for purpose, which is why we’re building a brand new, 100% fibre network. Following a £1bn investment in December 2020, we’re rapidly expanding our network from central London to over 80% of 13 London boroughs. This expansion has never been more important than in the current climate. The pandemic has driven an increase in technology adoption like nothing else before and businesses have had to adapt and digitise in order to survive.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan recognises the importance of fibre infrastructure to the city’s productivity and said “additional investment [from G.Network]  is great news for our city and will mean new jobs in infrastructure and faster internet speeds for Londoners at home and at work. At a time when so many are reliant on good connectivity, we’re encouraging more investment in full fibre.”

G.Network’s infrastructure enables businesses to utilise data-hungry services and cloud-based applications without limits. It’s the ideal platform for digital innovation and long term growth as it’s future proofed for decades to come.

G.Network CEO, Sasho Veselinski believes full fibre will fundamentally change the way business is done: “We have all learned in the last year that great connectivity brings flexibility. With the right flexibility, we will all be able to rethink how, when and where we work. But the critical enabler of this is a dense citywide full fibre network, and that is what the G.Network project unlocks for London.”

Customer feedback has been excellent and full fibre connectivity and the personalised experience of working with the G.Network team is having a significant impact on businesses.  One such customer is SameDayDoctor, who provide an advanced private walk-in primary care service at four clinics across the UK.  Dr. Gerlis reached out to G.Network as his clinic’s connectivity needs were not being met by their previous provider. Within five working days, our Gigabit broadband connection was fully installed, enabling doctors and supporting staff to complete their vital work without lagging, latency, or file corruption.

“The team were really efficient” commented Dr. Gerlis. “… they just got on with it. In my experience it’s unusual for a service to just work like this. Since G.Network came along, my broadband has worked beautifully.”

We believe all businesses should have access to an ultrafast and reliable network and not be limited by sub-standard connectivity. We offer business tariffs from 100 Mbps up to 10 Gbps with prices on a par with existing copper-fibre broadband and much less than fibre leased lines. There are also no mid contract price rises to protect our customers from unexpected costs.
