Essential Fibre Broadband: Terms and Conditions.
Who can get G.Network Essential Fibre?
Essential Fibre is available for anyone on one or more of these state benefits:
- Universal Credit (all claimants)
- Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit)
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance*
- Income-based Employment and Support Allowance*
* You need to be currently receiving income-related Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) to qualify for Essential Fibre. People on contribution-based only JSA/ESA are not eligible. If you receive both income and contribution-based JSA/ESA, your income-based JSA/ESA must be higher.
Essential Fibre eligibility checks
If you wish to apply for Essential Fibre we will need you to send to us proof that you are in receipt of at least one of the state benefits listed above as well as some basic personal information (e.g. name & address) so we can check your eligibility and amend your account accordingly. We will process this information in accordance with our privacy policy, details of which can be found here. If we are satisfied following the eligibility checks that you are entitled to Essential Fibre then if you are an existing customer we will start your Essential Fibre service upon approval. If you are a new customer then we will progress your Essential Fibre order with our connections team. .
Please note: in order to be eligible for Essential Fibre, you are only required to provide proof of your receipt of at least one of the benefits listed above. We do not require you to provide any details of the exact reasons why you receive such benefits. Please ensure that any special category personal data (for example, data concerning health) are redacted from the documents provided. If you do not redact this information, we will treat this as your express consent for us to process it in conjunction with your Essential Fibre application.
Account holder name and address match
To qualify for Essential Fibre the existing G.Network Account Holder must be the same person in receipt of one of the qualifying state benefits above.
Essential Fibre contract term
Our Essential Fibre plan has a 12 month duration. When you reach month 10 of your Essential Fibre plan, we will contact you by email to let you know that you are nearing the end of your contract.
Eligibility check after 12 months
If you then wish to continue with Essential Fibre, we will run another eligibility check process. We will do this once every 12 months. If you are still eligible for Essential Fibre we will then renew your Essential fibre for another 12 months.
What happens if I’m no-longer eligible for Essential Fibre?
If you are no-longer eligible for Essential Fibre then we will send you an email to let you know, and offer to move you onto one of our standard residential Full Fibre tariffs. If you do not want to move to one of the standard tariffs then your contract will end after the initial 12 month term is complete and your broadband will be disconnected.
